SPECIAL PROTOCOL FOR THE TAKING OF URINE SAMPLES (Information for Athletes)

On the basis of the guidelines issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency for the attention of all anti-doping organizations, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee has established a specific protocol for the urine samples to which you are subjected. The purpose of this document is to inform you of its terms.

BEFORE HIS DEPARTURE ON MISSION, THE CONTROL OFFICER ENSURES:

not to show any symptoms of Covid 19 or any other condition;
to have all the equipment necessary for your safety and for your safety, in particular masks, hydroalcoholic gel and gloves that he can offer you if you do not have them yourself;
to be provided with disinfectant wipes and overshoes in the event that he does not remove his shoes before entering your home;
to have in its documents this information sheet which is intended for you.

ON ARRIVAL AT YOUR HOME, THE CONTROL AGENT:

must wear a mask. He may also wear gloves, in which case he will change them in front of you before starting the check;
either take off your shoes before entering, or put on overshoes;
notifies you orally of your control and tells you that the written notification will be made inside your home;
will remain at least 1,50 meters away from you at all times as far as the premises allow;
ask you if you or anyone at the scene has symptoms of COVID-19;

In the event of a positive response, he will immediately end the check and then write an additional report justifying the cancellation of the check.

will ask you which room in your home would allow the check to be carried out in the best possible conditions, particularly with regard to social distancing. It is your responsibility to ensure that people present at your home are kept away from the place of control.
give you this specific protocol sheet for your information;
you will be able to provide an assessment of the sanitary arrangements imposed during the procedure in the comment section of the doping control form. You are reminded that any unsuitable attitude on your part will result in the establishment of an additional report by the control officer.

FOR THE CONTROL PROCEDURE, THE CONTROL AGENT:

use the disinfectant wipes to clean the flat surface used as a support for the control procedure;
clean the scissors;
ask you to wash your hands with soap or hydroalcoholic gel. He will do the same;
will offer you gloves and a mask;

If you refuse, you must record and explain it on the doping control form.

will have you sign your notification with your own pen;
the control procedure will then begin;
inform you that you can no longer touch an uninfected object, in particular your mobile phone, the use of which is prohibited throughout the procedure ;
inform you that you must wear gloves throughout the procedure and that if you or the controller have to remove your gloves, you will need to disinfect your hands before putting on a pair;
when you are ready to provide the sample, you will need to remove your gloves, wash your hands thoroughly and rinse them with plenty of water before urinating;
Once you have provided the sample and closed the collection container, you will need to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or disinfectant and put on a pair of gloves before sealing the sample.

FOR COMPLETING THE CONTROL FORM, THE CONTROL OFFICER:

ask you to use your own pen;
ask you to keep your gloves on until the end of the procedure;
record any comments on the procedure;
record the protective measures put in place for your protection and theirs;

BEFORE LEAVING THE CONTROL SITE, THE CONTROL AGENT:

clean the flat surface used as a support for the control procedure as well as the scissors;
place all the waste in its garbage bag;
ask you to open the door for them to leave your home;
will ask you to make sure to contact the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee in the event that you contract COVID-19 within three weeks of the date of the test.

THE FOLLOW-UP OF THE CONTROL:

If you contract COVID-19 yourself within three weeks of the test, you must inform the Committee so that it can inform the agent in charge of the test and the laboratory in charge of analyzing your sample.
